ICC Men’s Twenty20 World Cup Schedule  

The seventh edition of the ICC Men’s Twenty20 World Cup will be co-hosted by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Oman.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday officially announced the transfer of the tournament from India. The much-awaited competition will be held from October 17 to November 14.

Though it will be held in UAE and Oman, the tournament will be hosted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). India has decided not to host the tournament due to the Corona epidemic.

“We are sad that the competition could not be held in India. Our responsibility is to host the T20 World Cup safely on the scheduled date. ” ICC Acting President Jeff Allardyce said in a statement.

The tournament will be held at four venues – Dubai International Stadium, The Sheikh Zayed Stadium (Abu Dhabi), The Sharjah Stadium, and the Oman Cricket Academy Ground. For the first time, Oman is hosting the ICC World Cup. Only the first round of the tournament will be held in Oman.

  Nations participating in T20 World Cup 2021:

  India, Pakistan, Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, West Indies, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Ireland, Netherlands, Scotland, Namibia, Oman, and Papua New Guinea.  

Sixteen nations are participating in the T20 World Cup. The first round will feature 12 games involving Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Ireland, the Netherlands, Scotland, Namibia, Oman, and Papua New Guinea. In the first phase, 8 teams will be divided into two groups. The best two teams from each group will be selected to play in the Super 12 stage.

India, Pakistan, Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, West Indies, and Afghanistan have been automatically selected in the Super-12 stage.

A total of 30 games will be played in the second phase i.e. Super-12 phase which will start from October 24. The second-round games will be played in UAE, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah. In the Super-12 phase, the teams will be divided into two groups of 6/6 teams. The top two teams from each group will then compete in the semifinals and then the finals.
