IPL Points Table 2022 Rules
As noted earlier, the primary target of each and every team is to finish up in one of the top four spots of the IPL points table. It is a secondary goal to be among the top two as those teams get an additional opportunity to be in the IPL Finals.
The IPL standings are determined by the number of points each team has. If more than one team is tied with the exact points, the ‘Net Run Rate (NRR) is carried into the review.
The rules for accumulating points in IPL points table 2022 are as follows:
a. A team gets 2 points for a win.
b. A team gets 1 point in case the game is abandoned or ends abruptly as No Result.
c. A team gets 0 points in case of a loss.
The Net Run Rate of a team is extremely important as the IPL Standings get too tight as the tournament advances and continually a few teams are drawn on points. The Net Run Rate of a team is estimated as ‘the number of runs scored by the team to the number of overs faced’ to ‘the number of runs conceded by the team to the number of overs bowled in the exact tournament.
