Sandeep Lamichhane in IPL Auction 2022  

A total of 292 cricketers will be bidding for the Indian Premier League (IPL) mini-action to be held on February 18 in Chennai, India.

The IPL said in a press release on Thursday night that although a total of 1,114 people had registered for the action, the number of players had been reduced based on the number of interested players in the eight IPL franchises participating in the action. Once the teams list the players they want to bid on, they will only bid on the action.

Binod Bhandari, Karan KC, Sompal Kami, Kushal Malla, Sharad Vesavkar, Avinash Bohara and Dipendra Airy along with Sandeep Lamichhane had registered for the action from Nepal.

The players were registered through the Nepal Cricket Association. For the first time, players other than Sandeep have been registered in the IPL, but the teams have not shown any interest in players other than Sandeep.

Only Sandeep Lamichhane from Nepal has made it to the final list as the IPL has reduced the number of players to be presented in the bidding. Sandeep is ranked 61st in the list released by the IPL.

This time, Sandeep has set his base price at 4 million Indian rupees (6.4 million Nepali rupees). In 2018, Sandeep will be paid Rs 2 million per season by Delhi. He was recruited into the team through Axon. This season, the teams will start bidding for Sandeep from Rs 4 million. The Nepali spinner was sacked by Delhi this season after his three-year contract expired.

Sandeep is only the third cricketer from the Associated Nations to make it to the IPL action this season. Ali Khan of the United States and Karthik Mayeppa of the UAE are the other two cricketers.

In the list released by the IPL, the base price of 10 players is the highest at Rs 20 million, including India’s Harbhajan Singh and Kedar Jadhav, while foreign players include Glenn Maxwell, Steve Smith, Shakib Al Hasan, Moin Ali, Sam Billings, Liam Plunkett, Jason Roy and Mark Wood has the highest base price.

The base price of 12 players is Rs 15 million. Similarly, the base price is Rs 10 million for 11 people, Rs 7.5 million for 15 people and Rs 5 million for 65 people.

A total of 61 players are in the squad, of which only 22 are making room for foreign players. Chennai and Hyderabad have the lowest position at one place, followed by Delhi and Kolkata at two places, Rajasthan at three places, Mumbai and Bangalore at four places and Kings XI Punjab at five places.

Bangalore can have a maximum of 13 players, Punjab 9 players, Kolkata and Rajasthan 8 players, Chennai 7 players, Delhi 6 players and Hyderabad 3 players.

Kings XI Punjab has the highest amount of players in the auction which will cost Rs 532 million. Royal Challengers Bangalore will get Rs 359 million, Rajasthan Royals Rs 348.5 million, Chennai Rs 229 million, Delhi Rs 129 million, Hyderabad and Kolkata Rs 10.75 million.
